Lana del Rey Gets All David Lynchy for H&M

When H&M came out with the Lana del Rey campaign, I was disappointed that all they
could come up with were grey backgrounds and safe styling. Then this video gets delivered
from the Fandom gods: plastic perfect Lana del Rey in a purely David Lynch style setting
where she croons Blue Velvet to a group of creepy, but well dressed girls. Lana del Baby
is more fabulous/dangerous than a Laura Palmer/Audrey Horne hybrid. She really is a
perfect candidate for a Lynch heroine. She has that 1950s look, with her Priscilla Presley
bouffant and Ann-Margret sweater-leggings combo, she is weird and off-putting, and she
has questionable acting skills and personality. I want to die and live in this video forever.

Parker Posey in Party Girl

Parker Posey's character Mary in the 1995 film Party Girl is truly inspiring. She's a 23-year-old Manhattanite whose only real skill in life is throwing an awesome party. That is until she's forced to get a job at the library and becomes one kick-ass desk clerk. She does this all with a killer designer wardrobe (minus her grown-up, professional, librarian outfit at the end, but I'll let that one slide) and has got me wanting to try wild color combinations, crazy tights, and super sweet mini skirts.

Ebay has a ton of faux fur leopard coats for good prices. You can also find them in a lot of vintage and thrift stores.

Morrissey

Super sorry about lack of updates, but I got a new computer and my camera software doesn't seem to work on this thing. So until then, I'll have to post guest photos. This round of pictures comes from d-m-a-x.com and are of Morrissey/Smiths night at The Echoplex in LA.

There was an acoustic set by the Sweet and Tender Hooligans, and the rest of the night was DJ sets of The Smiths and Morrissey songs.

Here are a couple of my favorite Morrissey pictures

Effy Stonem

In honor of the new season of Skins (which I think is really good so far. What are your thoughts?) this post is dedicated to Effy. Her episode comes out this week, but her self-destructive yet beautiful ways have inspired many of us.

Season 1 + 2

In Season 3 she showed a more put together sense of style. Lots and lots of black, boots, rips, Converse and jeans when she showed her more human, emotional side.

In Season 4, Effy just looks like an Urban Outfitters storefront window. Not necessarily bad, just not very creative. Let's hope the new episodes show a more defined sense of style.

And here is the Polyvore set I made in honor of Effy (in my most idealistic version.)
